QUESTION:

Mel when did you first start playing guitar?

Mel:

     I first started playing when I was seven years old it was very hard to find anybody to teach me because my hands were very small, so my mum & dad bought me a three quarter size guitar.

QUESTION:

Who would you say your is your favorite guitarist?

Mel:

Have I got to choose just one?

QUESTION:

   Sorry.who are your favorite guitarists?

Mel:

    Ok. Eric Clapton because he is Mr blues guitar, anyone who can hold a lead solo like he can, has to be a guitar God, also Mark Knopfler he is a wonderful and versatile musician. Also Johnny Marr (The smiths).

QUESTION:

    Mike when did you first started playing guitar

Mike:

     I think I was about fourteen years old some mates had started a band and needed a bass player so I saved up and got my first bass guitar. Its funny because after about three months they kicked me out. I guess I wasn't all that good. But as the years went by I got better and I played in some real good bands (Personal column) (Afraid of Mice) did T.V and 7 radio One sessions

QUESTION :

    When did you first start writing songs and who are your influences

Mike :

    I started writing songs about ten years ago. The first song I wrote was called stop but I didn't. I got better at writing; my influences I would say are every song I have heard and liked over the last 20 years

QUESTION :

   Why Silent Running for a name?

Mel:

    After the film Silent Running.
The one where all the trees and plants are in a big green house in space.
